Meeting with Society of Colonial Wars in CA - October 1, 2023

Several members of the Governing Council and other members were in attendance at the joint meeting with Society of Colonial Wars in CA held at the Hunt Valley Club in Pasadena, CA. Maryland Day at St. Clement’s Island Museum - March 25, 2023

On March 25th, Governor General Tony L. Vets, joined by Lt. Governor Paul Walden, attended Maryland Ceremonies at St. Clement’s Island Museum at Colton’s Point, MD. Vets brought greeting on behalf of the society and participated in the presentation of gifts to Francis Gray, Piscataway Conoy Tribal Chair. After the ceremony, Vets and Walden went to Historic St. Mary’s City where they presented a donation of $1,000 to Travis Parno, Acting Director.

Meeting with Society of Colonial Wars in CA - October 15, 2022

Several members of the Governing Council were in attendance at the joint meeting with Society of Colonial Wars in CA held at the Huntington Library in San Marino, CA. After the business meetings, members toured the Jonathan and Karin Fielding Collection of Early American Art. This collection includes important examples of painted portraits, furniture, needlework, painted boxes, quilts, and related decorative art, including objects made for everyday living by mostly rural New Englanders. Karin Fielding was hand to discuss many of the items and how they acquired them.

OFFM Returns to Maryland - August 13, 2022

On August 13, 2022, members of OFFM visited St. Anne’s Episcopal Church in Annapolis where they placed a wreath at the grave of Gov. Nicholas Greenberry. Greenberry came to Maryland in 1670 and quickly became prominent in local affairs and politics. From September 1693 to July 1694, he served as Maryland's 4th Royal Governor. After touring this historic church, the members took a short walk where they enjoyed lunch at The Federal House and socialized with friends old and new.
